If you can spare the time, do allow a
full day to visit this museum, as there is so much to see and do. Here
you can get a taste of how life was in the early 1800s and 1900s for all
parts of society - for those living in the luxury of the manor, for the
townspeople, and for the people of the colliery village. Children will
love getting about the 300 acre site on board the old trams and buses - and
for train enthusiasts, there is a chance to have a trip on a carriage pulled
by a replica of the historic Locomotion engine.
Allow at least half a day, if you can,
for your visit to Beamish, as there is so much to see and do.
